India Post has invited online applications for 23,757 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts covering Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster, and Dak Sevak roles under the Schedule-II, July 2026 engagement cycle, one of the largest GDS drives in recent years. One-Time Registration on the official portal opens on 31 August 2026, and online application submission runs from 2 September to 21 September 2026. Candidates must have passed Class 10 with Mathematics and English as subjects, studied the local language of the circle up to at least Class 10, and be aged between 18 and 40 years, with standard age relaxation for reserved categories. There is no written examination; selection is based purely on a merit list prepared from Class 10 marks, followed by document verification and mandatory basic computer knowledge training after selection. The application fee is Rs 100 for male candidates in unreserved and OBC categories, while women and SC/ST/PwD/transgender candidates are exempted. इंडिया पोस्ट ने शेड्यूल-2, जुलाई 2026 सत्र के तहत ग्रामीण डाक सेवक (जीडीएस) — ब्रांच पोस्टमास्टर, असिस्टेंट ब्रांच पोस्टमास्टर और डाक सेवक — के 23,757 पदों के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन आमंत्रित किए हैं, जो हाल के वर्षों की सबसे बड़ी जीडीएस भर्तियों में से एक है। आधिकारिक पोर्टल पर वन-टाइम रजिस्ट्रेशन 31 अगस्त 2026 से शुरू होगा, जबकि ऑनलाइन आवेदन 2 सितंबर से 21 सितंबर 2026 तक भरे जा सकेंगे। उम्मीदवार का 10वीं पास होना अनिवार्य है, जिसमें गणित व अंग्रेजी विषय शामिल हों, साथ ही संबंधित सर्कल की स्थानीय भाषा का 10वीं तक अध्ययन और आयु 18 से 40 वर्ष के बीच होनी चाहिए, आरक्षित वर्गों को मानक आयु छूट मिलेगी। कोई लिखित परीक्षा नहीं होगी; चयन पूरी तरह 10वीं के अंकों के आधार पर बनी मेरिट सूची से होगा, इसके बाद दस्तावेज सत्यापन व चयन के बाद अनिवार्य बेसिक कंप्यूटर प्रशिक्षण होगा। सामान्य व ओबीसी पुरुष उम्मीदवारों के लिए आवेदन शुल्क 100 रुपये है, जबकि महिलाओं व एससी/एसटी/दिव्यांग/ट्रांसजेंडर उम्मीदवारों को छूट है। उम्मीदवार अपने पंजीकृत मोबाइल नंबर व ईमेल आईडी से indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement पर आवेदन कर सकते हैं।
